Why SSC is Important

JEWISH CONTINUITY

Assimilation and intermarriage are eating away at Jewish population figures in every Jewish community around the world. The only recognized way to stop the consequences of this devastating reality is Jewish education. The Shehebar Sephardic Center is vital to repair and rebuild communities who have been wounded by these critical problems.

JEWISH VALUES

At the Shehebar Sephardic Center, we stand on the foundations of strong Jewish Values:

  • G-d's omnipresence: an all powerful G-d, who created the world, watches over it and cares for it.

  • Tikun Olam: improving and repairing the world, taking care of our fellow man.

  • Torah Knowledge: delivering its knowledge and living in accordance with its mitzvoth.

The Shehebar Sephardic Center is crucial in that it reaches out to small and neglected communities. The SSC accomplishes this by educating the community members and providing a strong Jewish foundation for the generations.

JEWISH HISTORY

Without a past there can be no future. The Shehebar Sephardic Center is essential to preserve Jewish history while building a strong learning environment. Through education the SSC connects us to our past in preparation for the future.

THE GOAL OF SSC

The main goal of the Shehebar Sephardic Center is to ensure Jewish continuity through education. The Shehebar Sephardic Center trains and sends rabbinical leaders all around the world to help revive dying communities. By instilling Jewish values and practices, educating Jews as to their history, we work to prevent assimilation and assure continuity in these communities.

In the next decade, the SSC will educate and place 100 more of its graduates in neglected communities, from small windswept towns in the U.S. to remote and desolate areas in Eastern Europe. There are many communities that are in danger of disappearing if the SSC does not step in to help them.
