The Russian Program

SSC was privileged to apply its expertise in education and Jewish leadership in Russia, namely in the region of Uzbekistan and Caucus. To meet this challenge we have created The SSC Russian Program to educate and place its graduates through out the CIS Jewish communities. To date we have educated dozens of Russian speaking students in the Rabbinical and educational fields. In order to tend to the communal needs, it is necessary for the emissaries to possess expertise in Milah, Shechita and Sofrut. Since our programs' inception in 1993, our graduates have served four different communities. The SSC is credited for building and running three Jewish schools educating children from elementary to high school grades.

Future plans include training religious leaders for the new Russian speaking Communities that have sprouted in the United States, Germany and Austria. It should be noted that as a result of their efforts in strengthening the Jewish communities, the intermarriage rate in those communities is dropping.
